Four Ways that Christian Family Services Can Work with You.

The following are ways that we can help you build your family:

  1. We will find a birthmother and place her child with you. We require that you:

    • are South Carolina residents,
    • are professing and practicing Christians,
    • have been married for at least two years,
    • are members of the same church,
    • will attend an Agency Adoption Orientation, and
    • have an approved adoptive home study.
This is called an Agency Adoption. You will be invited to one of our agency adoption orientations, which are held approximately once a year. We would then expect to place a child with you within a year and a half from the date of the orientation. These time frames are dependent upon our placement rate and number of applicants.

  2. If you prefer a child with special needs, which includes black or biracial (B/W) infants, older children, sibling groups, or children with handicaps, we will work with you on an individual basis and may place a child with you at any time. We require that you:

    • are a resident of any state,
    • are professing and practicing Christians,
    • have been married for at least two years,
    • are members of the same church, and
    • have an approved home study from your state of residence.
This is called a Special Needs Adoption. Attendance at an agency adoption orientation is not required. Time frames for placement depend upon what special needs you are willing to accept. Agency fees are reduced for these children.

  3. You find a birthmother who chooses you to be the parents for her child. We will facilitate the adoption for you, working with the birthmother and you. We require that you are a resident of any state and have an approved home study in your state of residence. This is called an Identified Adoption. Due to your efforts, you will have an adoptive placement more quickly, and agency fees are substantially reduced.

  4. We can conduct an adoptive home study and provide post-placement supervision for you if you are working with another agency or attorney. This includes both domestic and international adoptions.
